Rules of the Off Road
- All riders consent that riding ATVs can be dangerous and will hold Hammer Down harmless in the event of any personal injury.
- All operators must be at least 18 years old and must have a valid driver’s license.
- Transporting more than two riders on a single ATV is prohibited.
- All riders must wear a helmet at all times during the adventure tour
- Free riding without the tour guide is not allowed
- All riders must follow the tour guide in single file maintaining a safe distance from the rider in front of them.
- Horsing around and taking foolish risks is strictly prohibited
- Drinking alcohol and operating machines will not be tolerated. We will not allow anyone who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol to ride in or drive our vehicles.
Policies and Waivers
Waivers
Waivers for minors can only be signed by their parents or legal guardians and CANNOT be signed by any other relative or friend.
Cancellation Policy
Full payment is required when booking your reservation. Your payment if fully fully refundable with a 48 hour cancellation notice. No Shows will be charged the entire rental fee.
Refunds
All adventures are refundable provided we recieve a 48 hour notice. Requests to reschedule also requires a 48 hour notice.
Arrival
Please arrive at least a half hour prior to your tour for orientation, to complete paperwork and gear up. We have a strict NO ALCOHOL AND DRUG policy for all of our tours. We reserve the right to refuse your tour without a refund if we believe you have consumed alcohol or drugs before your tour.
Damage
Please be advised that by providing us with your credit card and signing a waiver you authorize us to charge the card used for any damage that may be caused during your tour.
ATV Operation
Riders are responsible for developing awareness of our machines prior to the ride. Riders who show reckless intent may have their tour cut short and also be forbidden from participating in future adventures.
Breakdowns
Please be advised that in the event that a machine breaks down we will do our best to get you back on trail as soon as possible. (We rent newer equipment and perform extensive preventive maintenance.) We will work with you on crediting lost time for the vehicle that breaks down but not to the entire group. We will not refund for lost or flat tires for operators driving too aggressively or too fast in rocky areas.

All Adventurers will be required to acknowledge their understanding and agreement of these procedures prior to beginning a tour.

Do I need a driver’s license?
All operators must be 18 or older and have a valid driver’s license.
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are required.
How can I pay?
We accept credit cards or cash, credit is required to reserve tour.
How old do you have to be to ride?
ATV’s -Minimum age is 7 years old or 45 inches tall. Snow machines – Minimum age is 8 years old or 50 inches tall.
Can I ride if I’m pregnant?
We are not certified medical professionals. You should consult with your doctor prior to taking a tour.
Can I ride if I have a physical, medical or mental disability?

What should I wear?
ATV’s -Long pants/ jeans, long sleeve shirt, face mask, glasses or goggles and closed toe shoes are recommended. Temperature changes can happen quickly in the mountains. A jacket, hat and gloves are suggested. Snowmachines – We supply helmets which are required. You should dress in layers of warm clothing/snow suits, hats, gloves, boots.
What is your cancellation policy?
48 hours is required for refund.
How do I get to your location?
Take exit 42 off I93 onto Route 302 heading east. Travel 1.5 miles, take a right onto Industrial Park Rd. Go 1.25 miles and the Snow Yard is on your left.
Is there a damage deposit?
Damage deposit is not required, but any damage to machines will be billed to the credit card used to book the tour reservation.
How many adventurers can you accommodate?
1 to 26 people.
Can I get a group discount?
Yes, 10% group discount for 12 or more.
Are the Side-by-Side (ATV’s) governed?
No, they are not governed.
What if I don’t want to get the safety waiver?
The safety waiver is mandatory
Are you open in bad weather?
We can ride in the rain, but we will stop should there be thunder and lightning.
Do we need to arrive early?
Yes, please arrive at least 30 minutes early. You will need to fill out paperwork and get fitted for a helmet. You will get instructions and time to operate the machine prior to the tour. You will also be given information for what you will need to do while you are on the trail.
Can I trailer the ATV to a different location?
No, our ATV’s leave from The Snow Yard as a guided tour group and we all return as a group.
Can I go off trail?
No, the tour is limited to traveling on the marked trails.
What happens if I break down?

Are helmets provided?
Yes, helmets are provided and required for all drivers and riders. If you have your own protective DOT approved helmet, you can wear your own gear.
Do I need eye protection?
Yes, googles or safety glasses are required. We do sell them on site.
Will I see wildlife?
The trails do traverse the country side. You never know what you might see along the way.
Can I go to a restaurant to eat?
There are places to stop for snacks. The adventure is set up as a riding tour so please plan accordingly. Custom tours are available should you want to stop to eat, swim, or go fishing.
Can I bring a cooler on the ATV?
Yes, there is room to bring a cooler along. Please use plastic or cans for drinks and not glass. No alcohol is permitted during the tour.
Are there restrooms along the trail?
There are a couple of places to stop along the way for restrooms.
How much is a guide?
A guide is included in the tour. It is customary to tip your guide.
Who owns and maintains the trails?
The state of NH owns the trails. ATV & Snowmobile clubs perform traiI maintenance.
What lodging options are in the area?
Hampton Inn, Thayers Inn, Littleton Motel, Adair, Mountain View Grand, Mount Washington Hotel.
